Puri, June 3: Two burn victims who were admitted at hospital after sustained burn injuries in Puri firecracker explosion have been discharged from SCB Medical College and Hospital on Monday.
The injured persons are Balram Das (15) and Manmohan Behera (24).
According to an official statement from the Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Monday, out of the 17 individuals receiving treatment in various hospitals, two were discharged from SCB MCH, Cuttack, on Monday. Previously, six injured individuals had been discharged from hospitals in Puri, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack.
While more than 40 persons were injured during the Chapakhela festival, the tragic incident has so far claimed a total 13 lives.
The incident occurred during the Chapakela festivities at Narendra Puskarani (Narendra Pond) on May 29 night.
Worth mentioning, the State Revenue Commission (SRC) is leading the investigation, and the Chief Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased, along with free treatment for the injured.
