ODRAF team fishes out bodies of two students from Mahanadi in Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Oct 12: The Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team managed to fish out bodies of two students after hours of efforts on Saturday morning, who had drowned in Mahanadi river in Sambalpur district yesterday.


The ODRAF team carried out the rescue operation  at Samaleswari ghat on Friday evening  and continued till late night. The team resumed the operation today morning and manged to fish out the bodies.

 

The deceased have been identified as Kanisk Kanit and Himanshu Singh.

 

Sources said, the incident occurred yesterday at around 4pm when the two boys were taking bath in the river along with another friend. However, both were swept away by the strong current of the river. 

 

On being informed, the firefighters and the ODRAF team from Jharsuguda carried out a search operation last evening.
