Rourkela, June 8: In a tragic incident, two student’s bodies were fished out from the Brahmani River after they went missing while bathing.
The incident took place at the Vedavyas ghat in Rourkela on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Samir Shivkumar Nayak Puri district and Rajat Sahu of Balasore.
Sources said at least six students including some girls who had joined the NIT-Rourkela for summer internship, were taking bath in the Brahmani in the afternoon. Meanwhile, all of them were swept away in the current of which two remained missing in the water. Four others were rescued by the locals and were rushed to the hospital for resuscitation.
Brahmani Taranga police seized the bodies and registered a case in this connection.
