Two poll officials in Odisha suspended for duty neglect

Bhubaneswar, May 13: Two polling officers were suspended for dereliction of duty in the first phase of polling in Odisha on May 13.

Two polling officials were deployed in two polling booths of Kalahandi and Berhampur and were suspended due to dereliction of duty during the simultaneous polls, informed Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha.

Worth mentioning, voting is currently ongoing in districts including Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada in southern Odisha.

In total, there are 37 candidates contesting for the Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Berhampur Lok Sabha seats, while 240 candidates are vying for positions in the 28 Assembly seats under these four Lok Sabha constituencies.
