Nuapada, Aug 17: Two labourers died of suspected asphyxiation while working inside a septic tank in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Sunday, police reported.
The incident occurred in the afternoon at Laxmi Chhak in Khariar town. The deceased have been identified as Basudev Bhoi and Raghumani Hati, both residents of the local area.
According to Govind Sahu, the house owner, one of the workers entered the septic tank through an opening to remove a false ceiling but lost consciousness shortly after. When he failed to respond, the second worker entered the tank to assist him and also became unconscious.
