Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: Two including an infant were killed and 6 persons suffered critical injuries after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling collided head-on with a truck in Cuttack district of Odisha on Friday.
One of the deceased has been identified as Prabhat Nair. The injured include the auto-rickshaw driver Binod Samal and a roadside fish seller Ramachandra Behera.
According to the information, the incident occurred while six members of a family from 42 Mouza under Cuttack Sadar were travelling by an auto-rickshaw to Gania village in Nayagarh district to attend a 10-day ritual of a relative. The truck which was heading towards Banki collided head on with the auto-rickshaw near Panchagaon Gas Depot under Tigiria police limits in the district.
Being informed, police reached the spot, seized the bodies and sent the injured to nearby hospital.
