Sundargarh, June 23: Two youths lost their lives while another person sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident late Sunday night on the Bankibahal-Bhedabahal coal corridor road here.
The deceased have been identified as Subham Barik and Trilochan Seth, both residents of Bhedabahal.
According to sources, the accident occurred when a truck collided with a motorcycle killing Subham and Trilochan on the spot. Another occupant of the bike, identified as Bikash Nayak, was critically injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The incident sparked outrage among locals, who protested by staging a road blockade overnight in response to the tragedy. However, the protestors decided to lift the blockade early the next morning, restoring normalcy in the area.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident, and further details are awaited.
