Sundargarh, Jul 4: A tragic accident on the highway in the Koida area of Sundargarh district has left two people dead and four others injured. The incident occurred when a Hyva truck, laden with iron, lost its balance and collided with a Maruti Omni van carrying labourers.
Reports suggest that the van was en route from Koida to a nearby plant when the truck crashed into it, severely damaging the Omni. Two persons were killed instantly, while four others sustained injuries. The injured were quickly rescued and taken to Koida Hospital. Given the critical nature of their injuries, they are expected to be transferred to Rourkela for further treatment.
The identities of the deceased have not been confirmed at this time. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The truck driver has been detained by the police for questioning.
