Bhubaneswar, July 30: Only two co-operative cold storages are yet functional in the state,said Co-operation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta on Wednesday.
Responding to a query by BJD MLA Aswini Patra during the monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly, Bal Samanta said that the government had set up 18 co-operative cold storages in the state.
The Cooperative Cold Storage and Nimapada multi-commodityStorage Co-operative Society Ltd are right now functioning well whereas the remaining 16 storage units are lying defunct.The Department has taken proactive measures to make the defunct cold storage operational soon, the minister added.
