Keonjhar, Dec 30: In a tragic incident, a man was trampled to death by a tusker in Champua Forest range of Odisha’s Keonjhar district in the wee hours of Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ratha Munda (45), a resident of Ravensapur village of Bali Bandh section under Champua Forest range in the district.
As per reports, Ratha had gone out of his house at around 2.00 am on Monday to attend nature’s call when a tusker trampled him. He died on the spot.
Upon getting the information, Forest Department personnel arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent to the Champua Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem.
A pal of gloom descended on the village following the tragic demise of Ratha.
