Bhubaneswar, June 13: Vehicular movements on NH-16 between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar were log jammed on Thursday, after a truck rammed into as many as four cars.
The incident took place at Palasuni area in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon, as the road was almost blocked after the five vehicles were found mingled together closing up the road for hours following the incident.
Sources said, a speeding truck coming from the Cuttack-side tossed a car on NH-16 all of a sudden violently. The collision was so fierce that the two vehicles again rammed into another 3 cars, passing on the way. As a result, a number of persons onboard sustained critical injuries and vehicular movements from both sides stalled for hours.
Being aware of the tremendous bang, locals accompanied by police rushed to the spot, rescued the injured ones and escorted to the hospital for treatment.
Till the report, police was making sincere effort to vacate the damaged vehicles from the road to normalize traffic.
