Lucknow, Nov 6: In a tragic incident, at least 10 people including six women and three children, were killed in a road mishap wherein a truck crashed an auto rickshaw in UP’s Bilgram area on Wednesday.
The horrific incident took place on the Bilgram-Madhavganj road near Roshanpur village in the noon.
While four others were injured, all of them were rushed to the hospital for treatment, the Bilgram Police said.
According to reports, the accident took place at around 12.30 pm while a group of people were commuting in a passenger auto. Ten persons - six women, three children and a man – died on the spot in the mishap while four others were left injured.
On being informed, police and fire brigades rushed to the spot to rescue the victims from under the bulged auto after hour-long operation.
The truck driver has been apprehended but the auto driver who was reportedly carrying at least 15 passengers is yet to be nabbed, said the police.
