Bhubaneswar, December 1: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday honoured four players from the state who were part of the victorious Indian team in the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind. Each player was presented with a cash award of Rs 11 lakh.

The players — Phula Soren from Balasore, and Parvati Marndi, Yamuna Rani Tudu, and Basanti Hansda from Mayurbhanj — contributed to the Indian team’s triumphant victory against Nepal in the final held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on November 23.

The players were given a warm and enthusiastic reception at the Biju Patnaik International Airport upon their return.
