Tribal community in Mayurbhanj performs Jahira puja wishing Revenue Minister's recovery from Covid

Shamakhunta, May 5: A tribal community of Mayurbhanj district performed Jahira puja wishing speedy recovery of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sudama Marndi from Covid. Hundreds of devotees offered community prayer before their Jahira, one after the other in Dudhiasola village under Bangiriposi block wishing his quick recovery from Corona. Sources said, the tribal community came to know that their leader was infected with Corona and was admitted in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. Acting on it, the village Pradhan convened a meeting on performing Jahira Puja for his speedy recovery. Accordingly, villagers from far and near gathered before Dudhiasola Jahira in order to perform Puja according the traditional rituals. All men and women offered jungle fruits and flowers to the village deity and pledged community prayer wishing quick recovery of their leader.
