The government has already provided over Rs 100 crore to support high-performance computing for selected homegrown tech companies.
Bengaluru-based Sarvam AI made massive waves at the summit by releasing two large language systems built entirely from the ground up. Their largest platform reportedly beats popular global alternatives like DeepSeek R1 and Google Gemini Flash in several testing benchmarks. The company founders emphasized that having total control over native technology is far more important than simply creating the biggest digital brain.
For regions focusing heavily on native dialects, Gnani.ai introduced a remarkable voice-cloning platform called Vachana TTS. This system can accurately replicate human voices in 12 different regional languages using just a ten-second audio clip. Such practical innovations will greatly benefit AI adoption in Odisha, especially for rural customer support networks where low-bandwidth solutions are essential.
Furthermore, the IIT Bombay-led BharatGen group unveiled a powerful multilingual tool designed to boost sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education. Receiving substantial financial backing from the government, this open-source project will empower local creators within the Bhubaneswar tech ecosystem and beyond to build functional, citizen-centric applications.
Even global leaders are taking notice. Google CEO Sundar Pichai praised Indian tech innovation during the event, noting that the energy among developers here is completely unmatched worldwide.
