Bhubaneswar, July 29: At least two trains were cancelled and six others rescheduled following the derailment of a goods train at the Mancheswar Station yard in Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred at around 1:30 am on Monday, fortunately resulting in no casualties.
In a statement, East Coast Railways confirmed that the down line was cleared for train movement by approximately 5 am. "Trains are now running on both the Up and Down lines. There is no damage to life or property in the incident," the release noted.
As a precautionary measure, the Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Express has been short-terminated between Angul and Puri in both directions. The following trains have been affected:
Cancelled Trains:
Train 08534 (PSA-CTC) scheduled for July 29, 2024, is cancelled.
Train 08432 (PURI-CTC) scheduled for July 29, 2024, is cancelled.
Short-Terminated Trains:
Train 18126 (PURI-ROU) scheduled for July 29, 2024, service between Puri and Angul is cancelled.
Train 18125 (ROU-PURI) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will be short-terminated at Angul and will operate as Train 18126 from Angul to Rourkela.
Rescheduled Trains:
Train 20836 (PURI-ROU) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 7:00 am instead of 5:00 am.
Train 12278 (PURI-HWH) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 7:45 am instead of 5:45 am.
Trains 18416 (PURI-BRBL) and 18414 (PURI-PRDP) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 8:15 am instead of 6:15 am.
Train 12074 (BBS-HWH) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 8:00 am instead of 6:00 am.
Train 12893 (BBS-SNPU) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 8:35 am instead of 6:35 am.
Train 12880 (BBS-LTT) scheduled for July 29, 2024, will now depart at 9:20 am instead of 7:20 am.
