​​​​​​​Puri, Dec 31: Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Wednesday visited Puri Jagannath Temple after she assumed her new office.

Reaching the shrine at night, Garg paid obeisance to Lord Jagannath wishing wellbeing of the state.

During darshan of the Trinity, Chief Administrator, Shri Jagannath Temple Administration, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Puri District Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and SP Prateek Singh, accompanied Garg and escorted her into the sanctum sanctorum.

Worth mentioning, Anu Garg assumed charge as Odisha Chief Secretary today, succeeding Manoj Ahuja, who was superannuated after his successful tenure.

Garg, a 1991-batch IAS officer, makes history as the first woman to hold the prestigious position in the state's bureaucracy.
