Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: The trailer for the upcoming Odia film Jeevandan (Life Donation), based on the renowned novel by celebrated author Radhamohan Mahapatra, was launched recently at Geeta Govinda Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

Directed by Sourabh Sarkar, the film highlights a true incident and aims to bring social awareness and education through its poignant storytelling.

At the trailer launch, Radhamohan Mahapatra, the acclaimed author, was present alongside his daughter, Dr. Samapika Mahapatra, a professor at Central University of South Bihar, and the film's director Sourabh Sarkar. Several actors, including lead cast members, also attended the event. The film, which is based on a real-life event, seeks to deliver important lessons about society and human values.

Speaking about the film, Radhamohan Mahapatra shared his belief in the power of writing and the role it plays in bringing about social reform. He mentioned that literature and the pen have a significant impact on societal change, and through his works, he has aimed to shift public consciousness. He also emphasized that ‘Jeevandan’ would resonate deeply with audiences and help bring about positive change in society.

Dr. Samapika Mahapatra, who has been involved in this project, spoke about how her father's work, especially his writing, has been an inspiration. She noted that this film, based on his novel, would leave a lasting impact on viewers, providing insights into societal issues. She expressed her hope that the film would be a tool for societal improvement.

Other notable guests included eminent personalities such as Professor Jhumki Rath, Principal of BJB College, and Dr. Bibhavari Bal, Head of the Sociology Department at BJB College. Dipti Maya Mahapatra, Additional Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, was also present.

The film has already completed shooting in Puri and Bhubaneswar and is expected to be a significant cultural and cinematic contribution to Odia cinema. The director and the cast are optimistic that the film, with its deep social messages, will strike a chord with audiences and inspire change.

The film Jeevandan is set to be released in theaters across Odisha in November. It is expected to make a significant impact on the audience, particularly in terms of spreading awareness and education on societal values.
