Bhubaneswar, March 16: Women employees of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) celebrated the International Women’ Day here on Tuesday with SOA Vice-President Ms. Saswati Das saying members of the fair sex were capable of proving themselves in every sphere.

Addressing a program organised by the university as the chief guest, Ms. Das said that SOA had been striving to empower women in the field of academics, research and other areas.

Women have brought laurels for SOA in different fields including academics and health care and had become examples for all, she said.

The program was also addressed by SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Neeta Mohanty, Controller of Examination Prof. Manjula Das and other women employees of SOA and Summa Real Media Private Ltd.

Prof. (Dr.) Ruchi Bhuyan, Dean of Institute of Dental Sciences, Prof. Pravati Tripathy, Director, SUM Nursing College, Prof. Sasmita Das, Dean, SNC-1, women departmental heads, professors, faculty members and women journalists working with Summa Real Media Private Ltd attended the event.

Prof. Manjula Das welcomed the participants while Prof. Renu Sharma, Additional Dean (Students’ Affairs), ITER, conducted the program.
