Bhubaneswar, July 14: President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day official visit to Odisha, where she will participate in a series of important events focusing on education, healthcare, and cultural heritage.
As part of her itinerary, the President will attend the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, today. On Tuesday, she will visit Cuttack to grace the 13th convocation of Ravenshaw University and lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School.
In preparation for her visit, the Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, aimed at ensuring the safety of the President and maintaining smooth vehicular movement across the cities.
Traffic restrictions:
July 14 (Monday):
5:10 PM to 5:50 PM: Movement restricted along Airport Square to AIIMS via major city intersections including Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhavan, Power House, Jaydev Vihar, and NH-16 up to AIIMS.
6:30 PM to 7:05 PM: Restrictions from AIIMS to Raj Bhavan covering Aiginia underpass, Cosmopolis Square, Crown Hotel, and New Pal Heights Cut.
July 15 (Tuesday):
9:30 AM to 11:10 AM: Movement restricted from Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar to Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, via NH-16, OMP Square, and Malgodown overbridge.
11:50 AM to 12:15 PM: From Ravenshaw University to Ravenshaw Girls’ High School through Jobra Chhak and Gadagadia Temple.
12:25 PM to 12:50 PM: Return route from the school to Circuit House via various Cuttack city intersections.
3:10 PM to 3:30 PM & 3:35 PM to 3:55 PM: Restrictions around Sarala Bhawan and Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.
4:50 PM to 6:10 PM: From Indoor Stadium back to Bhubaneswar via NH-16 and key junctions including Acharya Vihar, Jaydev Vihar, and Airport Square.
Goods vehicle restrictions:
July 14 (Monday): Heavy vehicles (6-wheelers or more) from Khurda to Cuttack via Bhubaneswar will be diverted at Pitapalli Square to Chandaka. Vehicles from Cuttack will be diverted at Balikuda Square towards Chandaka.
July 15 (Tuesday): No movement of goods carriers (6-wheelers or more) will be allowed in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, or on NH-16 from 6 AM to 7 PM.
Emergency vehicles are exempt from these restrictions.
Commuters are urged to plan their travel accordingly and use alternative routes to avoid delays and inconvenience during the President’s visit.
