Rourkela, Jan 14: In a quick and efficient operation, Rourkela police on Tuesday arrested six individuals in connection with a significant burglary at the Electrical Godown on DAV Lane under the jurisdiction of Plantside Police. The stolen goods, primarily high-end audio equipment, were valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Sourav Ghosh (19), Sunil Saw, alias Tulu (24), Suraj Kishan (25), Manoj Kindo (34), Deepak Barwa (24), and Rohit Kindo (27).
According to police reports, the theft took place between the evening of January 11 and the morning of January 12, 2026. The owner of the godown, Davinder Singh, filed a complaint after discovering that a substantial amount of professional audio equipment was missing.
Upon receiving a tip-off, the police acted swiftly, launching a targeted operation that resulted in the recovery of several items, including 19 amplifiers, 4 speakers, 2 stabilizers, 2 microphones, an audio mixer, 4 LED lights, and two vehicles one being a pick-up truck and the other an auto rickshaw—used during the crime.
The police managed to crack the case within 24 hours, showcasing their quick response. All six accused have been charged under Sections 331(4), 305(a), and 3(5) of the BNS Act and have been forwarded to court for further legal proceedings.
