Kolkata, May 27: Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar on Wednesday resigned from all organisational positions in the party, days after openly expressing her displeasure with the leadership.
Her resignation came a day after she attended an administrative review meeting in Kalyani chaired by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, despite reportedly being directed by the party not to take part in the programme.
Dastidar, who served as the national president of the TMC’s women’s wing and played a key role in the party’s “Banga Janani” initiative, has stepped down from her organisational responsibilities. However, she will continue as the Member of Parliament from West Bengal’s Barasat Lok Sabha constituency.
