Bhubaneswar, April 12: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds for several districts in Odisha on Sunday, April 13.
According to the IMD, thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph are expected to occur at isolated places across eight districts-Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhargarh, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
A yellow warning has been issued for these districts by the IMD’s regional center in Bhubaneswar.
Additionally, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two locations in the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Sundargarh — along with the aforementioned eight districts.

The IMD further stated that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures across Odisha for the next three days. However, a drop of 2–3°C in daytime temperatures is expected thereafter.
