Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: A review meeting has been conducted under the chairmanship of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari to monitor the preparedness of different line departments to tackle the severe cyclone Montha.

Electronic and Information Technology (E &IT) Department being the nodal department for all telecom related matters, has issued advisory to the district collector of the southern and south western districts of the state to issue instructions to the respective field functionaries to keep ready with the power back-up systems to facilitate provision of electricity to the tower sites for uninterrupted mobile/internet connectivity to the general public during that period.

Besides, the Department of Telecommunication and all the telephone and mobile network service providers operating in the state are also requested to take necessary proactive steps to ensure un-interrupted telephone/mobile service during pre and post cyclonic period.

The cyclone is likely to make landfall on Andhra Pradesh coast in the evening or night on October 28.
