Angul, Oct 8: At least three persons including two college students were killed in separate road mishaps in Odisha’s Angul and Bolangir districts this morning.
As per reports, all three deceased were out on a morning walk when they were hit by unknown vehicles.
In the first instance, two plus II students Sadhu Samad and Babuli Sunti were killed after being hit by an unknown vehicle at NH-49 in Pallahara in Angul district.
In the second incident, a speeding pick-up van ran over a youth, identified as Purushottam Bhoi, at Patnagarh in Bolangir district today leading to his death on the spot. The pickup van fled the spot after the mishap.
Irate over this, locals staged a road blockade demanding the immediate arrest of the driver of the pickup van and compensation for the family of the victim.
Vehicular traffic on the Bolangir-Patnagarh was affected due to the road blockade.
Normalcy retuned after police arrived at the spot and pacified the agitators.
