Bhadrak, May 7: Police in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Tuesday arrested three persons including a fake NEET examinee.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aditya Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Madhukar and Aditya Raj. Police said that three other persons involved in the fraud are yet to be nabbed.
As per reports, one Saswat Tripathy hailing from Mayurbhanj was to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) exam, which was conducted on May 5.
However, he locked a deal with Aditya Raj, a second-year medical student from Kolkata, with the help of other two accsued wherein it was decided that the medical student will appear the NEET exam on behalf of Saswat. The deal was reportedly closed at a whooping Rs 10 lakh.
On the day of the exam, the invigilators at the examination centre doubted Aditya Raj and alerted the administrative officials. After examining his admit card and Aadhaar card’s biometrics, the officials came to know about the fraud and informed the police who arrested him.
Later during the interogation, he revealed about the middlemen Rajesh Kumar Madhukar and Aditya Raj.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
