Cuttack, Jan 23: The indefinite bus strike called by the private bus operators in Odisha that was scheduled to begin on Jan 24, has been put on hold after discussions with the Odisha government.

Odisha Private Bus Owners Association on Thursday announced its resolve to revoke the call of ‘All Odisha Bus Strike’, for the time being.

Secretary, Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association Debendra Sahu following a meeting with the Odisha Transport Department said, an agreement was reached between the bus owners and the department during a fruitful discussion.

As per the talks, the department assured the private bus operators that no government buses under the Mukshya Mantri Bus Seva yojna will ply between a Block and a district headquarters, on the sole routes of private buses. However, the Mukhya Mantri Bus service will provide connectivity between the blocks and district headquarters where there is no private bus service at all, Sahu added.
