Three-day campaign launched in Odisha to enrol left-out and new voters

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, on Wednesday launched a three-day statewide special campaign to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters who were left out of the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, while also registering newly eligible young voters.

The campaign will continue till October 9.

Citizens whose names were deleted from the electoral roll during the SIR process despite remaining eligible to vote can approach their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to obtain information on the required procedure, forms and supporting documents, said the CEO office in a statement.

Their applications will be scrutinised and verified in accordance with the prescribed electoral rules before their names are included in the roll.

The campaign also focuses on young citizens who turned 18 by October 1, 2026, subject to fulfilment of other eligibility criteria. Those eligible can apply for enrolment through Form-6 by approaching their respective BLOs.

As part of the drive, BLOs are conducting door-to-door visits to identify eligible individuals who may have been left out of the electoral roll and assist them with the enrolment process. The information collected is being verified at the district level by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and BLOs.

Booth Level Agents of political parties are also participating in the campaign, assisting with booth-level electoral roll-related activities and creating awareness among citizens about the enrolment process, the CEO’s office said.

The electoral authorities have urged eligible citizens to check their names in the electoral roll and contact their respective BLOs if their names are missing or if they qualify for fresh enrolment.
