Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: With the general election afoot, as many as 13 District Congress Committee (DCC)presidents of the Odisha Congress have been replaced on Sunday whereas Ad-hoc presidents have been appointed in the organizational districts.
This decision has been made under the recommendation of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President, Sarat Pattanayak.
The newly appointed ad-hoc presidents are expected to assume their charges immediately, as per the press release.
The release read, to enhance the efficiency of organizational activities, the party has decided to divide the Ganjam and Mayurbhanja organizational districts into two separate districts. Tapan Chakrabarti has been appointed as the DCC President for the Khurdha District whereas Haradeep Singh has been appointed as the DCC Chief of the Bargarh district. Similarly, Sunil Das, Deepak Patnaik, Rabindra Sharma, Chandra Sekhar Parida, Sashi Bhushan Patra, Niraj Das, Bhuban Bihari Sahu, Surendra Singh Bhoi, Rabi Roy, Subrat Pradhan, and Jaya Sankar Mishra have been assigned as the DCC presidents of Dhenkanal, Ganjam (East), Ganjam (West), Kandhamal, Koraput, Mayurbhanja (East), Mayurbhanja (West), Bolangir, Rourkela, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts respectively.
These changes likely reflect the party's strategy to strengthen its position and organizational structure in preparation for the upcoming elections.
