Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para-athletes continued their impressive run at the 2025 World Abilitysport Games, adding three more medals on the second day of competition and strengthening India’s overall medal tally at the global event.

Odisha’s KamalakantNayak delivered one of the standout performances of the day by clinching the gold medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw F53 category, with a commanding throw of 17.67 metres.

In the Men’s Discus Throw F55 event, Odisha’s Prafulla Khandayatray added to India's medal tally with a bronze medal, registering a best throw of 22.13 metres.

Odisha’s medal count further increased through Suchitra Parida, who secured a bronze medal in the Women’s Discus Throw F54/55/56 combined category. Parida threw 14.35 metres in an event decided under the Raza points system, which equalises performances across different classifications.

With six medals on the opening day and three more on the second, Odisha’s para-athletes have secured a total of nine medals so far at the 2025 World Abilitysport Games, comprising 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 Bronze. Their impressive performances continue to play a crucial role in India’s strong showing at one of the world’s most competitive para sporting events.
