Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday cleared a proposal to set up an Integrated Automotive, Aerospace and Defence Equipment–Components Manufacturing Complex in Dhenkanal district.

Placed by the Industries Department, the proposal outlines the development of the manufacturing hub by the Kalyani Group on over 1,100 acres at Gajamara in Dhenkanal. The project will be implemented under the special provisions of the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022.

The integrated complex will comprise a specialty steel unit of Kalyani Steels Ltd, a super alloy manufacturing facility by Saarloha Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd, and an industrial components casting and forging unit of Bharat Forge.

Chief Secretary Anu Garg said the project has been conceived as a comprehensive industrial cluster with multiple production units and dedicated vendor parks. The cluster is designed to strengthen downstream value chains in titanium, specialty steel, auto components, and aerospace and defence manufacturing.

The combined projects of Kalyani Steels Ltd, Saarloha Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd, and Bharat Forge and its subsidiaries will involve an estimated investment of about ₹17,250 crore.

The initiative is expected to create over 4,800 direct jobs and around 5,500 indirect jobs during the construction and operational phases. With the expansion of vendor parks and ancillary industries, total employment is projected to surpass 20,000 in the coming years.
