Cannes, May 16: Bollywood actress Tara Sutaria reached a significant international milestone at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 when she was honoured at the Red Sea Film Foundation's Women In Cinema Gala. The event celebrated her contribution to global cinema alongside five other accomplished women.

Sharing her excitement with fans on Instagram, Sutaria described the evening as “unforgettable.” For the gala, she donned an ivory Vivienne Westwood gown with a signature corset silhouette and soft draped neckline, paired with a dramatic matching stole. Styled by celebrity stylist Tanvi Ghavri, the look was elevated with statement diamond-and-emerald jewellery, including the High Jewelry Turaco necklace, matching earrings, and a Concorde pear-shaped diamond ring.

Her beauty ensemble, created by hairstylist Aamir Naveed and makeup artist Meera Sakhrani, reflected vintage glamour with a sleek bun, winged eyeliner, softly sculpted makeup, and nude lips.

The Women In Cinema Gala is an annual initiative by the Red Sea Film Foundation, aimed at celebrating female talent shaping the global film industry.

On the professional front, Sutaria is set to appear in the pan-India action film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The film, directed and co-written by Geetu Mohandas, stars Yash as Raya, alongside Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, and Rukmini Vasanth. Sutaria plays Rebecca, a character described as charming yet hard to read.

A teaser released earlier this year showcased a high-octane sequence set in a cemetery, introducing Yash’s character as a fearless, composed protagonist wielding a Tommy gun. Kiara’s Nadia is a calm yet deeply emotional figure, Huma’s Elizabeth exudes sharp danger, and Nayanthara’s Ganga plays a pivotal role in shifting the story’s balance of power.

Originally slated for March 19, 2026, and later moved to June 4, the film’s release has now been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced. Actor-producer Yash said the decision follows the positive response from global distributors at CinemaCon, reinforcing their aim to release the film on the widest possible scale.

Shot in Kannada and English, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups will also be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam dubbed versions.
