Sambalpur, Dec 23: A Senior Revenue Assistant at the Office of the Settlement Officer,Major Settlement, Sambalpur- Basudev Bhoi has been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance for possession of disproportionate assets.
He is scheduled to be presented in the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur, today.
The arrest followed searches conducted at various properties linked to Bhoi, where investigators found substantial assets that he could not satisfactorily account for.
Among the assets seized were:
- Amulti-storey building in Bargarh Town
-A building in Sambalpur Town
- 16 valuable plots
-Four-wheeled vehicle
All of which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
A case, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 26/2025, has been registered against Bhoi in connection with the discovery of these illicit assets. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected as the probe progresses.
