Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is conducting the ASO (Assistant Section Officer) written examination today.

At the same time, Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is also conducting the RI, ICDS, and ARI examinations today.

However, overlapping date and timetable for the sittings have put the aspirants in a mess. As some sittings schedules even clash on the day hundreds of aspirants who had applied for the both examinations are feared to be exempted from attending at least one of the significant examinations commencing today.

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has scheduled the ASO (Assistant Section Officer) written examination on Sunday in three sittings — at 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:30 PM.

On the other hand, the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is conducting the RI, ICDS, and ARI examinations today in different centers , with the first paper scheduled from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

Since the timing of the OSSSC exam overlaps directly with the ASO Paper-I (9:00 AM to 10:30 AM), candidates who have applied for both exams are in a fix. Hundreds of such aspirants are in a conflict on how they will manage to appear both the exams, they sincerely prepared for.

As per some aspirants’ concern, they have appeared for both the exams. However, both are scheduled on the same day with clashes in the timetables. Many aspirants can’t appear one of the exams for the clashes in the schedule whereas a lot of aspirants with having a short gap between the two exams, may have to skip one due to different exam centers.

According to reports, the first shift of RI and ASO Exams will begin at 9 am. The final sitting of the ASO exam is in the afternoon. Thus, a candidate appearing for ASO will have to sit in the examinations throughout the day.

Similarly, the candidate who will appear in the RI examination will not be able to sit in the other two examinations of ASO.

Though no official response has yet been received from the two state recruitment agencies, lack of coordination between them, has put aspirants in trouble and undermined their frantic efforts.
