Cuttack, Nov 6: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new world record for his traditional boat sand art installation at the Bali Yatra 2025 festival in Cuttack, Odisha. The artwork, which beautifully highlights Odisha's maritime legacy, has been officially recognised by the World Records Book of India, in collaboration with Dion Group.

Crafted with precision and artistic brilliance, the installation is made up of 12,000 areca nuts, 500 coconuts, and 1,100 diyas. The sculpture, which measures 50 feet in length and 30 feet in width, serves as a tribute to the state’s rich cultural and maritime heritage, displaying Pattnaik's exceptional skill.

Sharing his excitement on social media, Pattnaik expressed: "Feeling Blessed. Honoured to set a New World Record for my Traditional Boat Sand Art Installation at #BaliJatra2025, Cuttack — crafted using 12,000 arecanuts, 500 coconuts, and 1,100 diyas. Proud to have this feat certified by the World Records Book of India, in collaboration with Dion Group. A heartfelt tribute to Odisha’s rich culture and glorious maritime heritage."
