Sydney, Aug 19: With political instability, unrest and violence still continuing in Bangladesh, the Asian nation hosting the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup seems challenging.
Reacting on the issue, Australian women's team captain Alyssa Healy stated it might be a "wrong thing" to host the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh as the country continues to deal with the consequences of the recent violence which led to hundreds of deaths and the ousting of the government, reports stated.
Earlier Australian government too stated a similar opinion. But Australia is not the only country to have expressed concerns of travelling to Bangladesh and playing the World Cup after the violence and political unrest. The ICC is mulling alternative options like UAE, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, sources said.
Speaking to the local media, Healey stated it is bit hard to play cricket as a human being in a nation where people are dying and there is violence.
