Sydney, Jan 4: Replying to Pakistan's first innings score of 313 all out, hosts Australia were 116/2 in 47 overs at stumps on Day 2 of the third and final Test of the three-match series, here on Thursday.
With rain affecting play on the second day, the officials decided to start Day 3 play half an hour early.
Playing his farewell Test, veteran Aussie opener David Warner scored 34. He was caught at slip by Babar Azam of spinner Agha Salman. Will he get another chance to bat in his final Test, that time and Rain God can say!
Warner's opening partner Usman Khawaja was out caught behind by wicketkeeper Mohd Rizwan after scoring 47, with pacer Aamer Jamal celebrating his departure.
The two unbeaten Aussie batters Marnus Labuschagne (23) and Steven Smith (6) would resume strike, if weather permits play on Day 3 at Sydney Cricket Ground, here.
Australia have already won the three-match Test series by winning the Perth and Melbourne matches. The hosts won the first Test by 360 runs and held nerves to clinch the second Test and series by winning with a 79-run margin.
