Sydney, Jul 7: The vibrant and energetic Odia community in Sydney, capital of New South Wales, Australia, celebrated the Bahuda Yatra with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The Odia association "Oriya" in Australia organized the Bahuda Yatra. The event served as a platform to reflect on the first Rath Yatra of the current year while also putting forward a proposal to construct a grand Jagannath Temple in Sydney.
Among those present at the gathering was Ranjan Acharya, the head of our Southern India unit. The visitors discussed various aspects of the ongoing festivities as well as future plans to expand the Odia presence and culture in Sydney, including the establishment of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath.
This initiative has sparked considerable interest within the community, which is excited about the future prospects of having a dedicated temple that will not only serve as a religious center but also as a cultural hub for Odias living in Australia.
The community continues to foster unity and enthusiasm for preserving and sharing their cultural heritage, particularly through the vibrant celebrations of Rath Yatra, which have become an important event for the Odia diaspora in Sydney.
