Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: The Odisha Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has announced that the funeral of the renowned Odia music director and lyricist, Swarup Nayak, who passed away yesterday, will be conducted with full state honors.
The CMO has conveyed that Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in addition to expressing his condolences for Nayak's demise, has instructed the State Home Department to ensure that his final rites are carried out with full state honors.
As per information provided by his family members, Swaroop Nayak will be cremated at the Cuttack Satichaura crematorium today.
Swaroop, a multifaceted talent who also contributed as a lyricist, singer, and actor, succumbed to a prolonged battle with throat cancer at a private hospital in Cuttack.
