Mumbai, October 5: Bollywood’s latest rom‑com Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has shown modest growth on its third day at the box office.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film minted ₹7.80 crore on Saturday, bringing its cumulative domestic take to ₹23.92 crore.
The movie opened on October 2 to mixed critical reception and a first‑day collection of ₹10.11 crore. It dipped sharply on Day 2, earning around ₹6.01 crore, before recovering somewhat on its Saturday run.
Despite the uptick, insiders say the growth is limited; the film’s Saturday increment stood at 29.78%, which falls short of the surge expected for a film hoping for strong weekend numbers.
The film’s box office performance is heavily reliant on multiplexes in metro and urban regions, where it’s drawing better footfalls than in smaller centres.
The story, which revolves around two former lovers who attempt to thwart their exes’ weddings while rekindling their own romance, features Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in key supporting roles.
“Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” faces stiff competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, which is registering strong numbers across multiple languages and states.
