"Sundays on Cycle” Organised at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: As part of the three-day celebration of National Sports Day (29th August to 31st August) across the country, the Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India and the Odisha Cycling Association, organised “Sundays on Cycle” today at Kalinga Stadium here.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of hundreds of citizens who came together to spread the message of fitness, healthy living and social unity. The cycle rally encouraged people to adopt an active lifestyle while supporting the vision of the Fit India Movement.

 Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj flagged off the cycle rally as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he said, “National Sports Day is not only a tribute to our sporting icons but also a reminder for every citizen to embrace fitness and well-being. Through today’s cycle rally, we are encouraging everyone to remain active and healthy. Similar rallies have been organised in various districts of the state, receiving tremendous public response. To build a fit and healthy Odisha, activities like yoga, exercise and cycling should become a part of our daily routine.”

 Minati Mahapatra, President of Odisha Cycling Association, Deepankar Mahapatra, CEO, Hockey Promotion Council Odisha, Ashok Kumar Panda,  Additional Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Bijay Kumar Swain, Additional Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department were present in the event.
