Dhenkanal,Feb 26: While elephants’ menace is yet continued in Dhenkanal, a youth lost his life on Tuesday under a tusker’s pad at Nagari village.

The deceased has been identified as Kastu Behera of the village under the Motanga Police limit.

According to the locals, Kastu and his family members had slept in their hut. Meanwhile, a tusker dragged Kasty out of the hut and trampled to deat at about midnight.

On being informed of the mishap, forest officials visited the spot and condoled the deceased family members.Subsequently, the body was sent for postmortem exams.

Panic gripped the Motanga area after the tragic incident, as the pachyderm killed the youth, dragging out of his house whereas elephants' herd regulary stray around the village.
