Suicide case of Odia student at IIT Hyderabad: Kin cry ragging

Hyderabad, Aug 9: The family members of the Odia student at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, who was found hanging in her hostel room on Monday, have alleged she has committed suicide due to ragging.

The family members of Mamitha Nayak (21), a resident of Dumuri village in Birmaharajpur Tehsil of Sonepur district, have alleged that she was subjected to ragging and committed suicide due to mental stress.

She joined M.Tech first year last month.

Notably, her classmates found her hanging from the ceiling fan and alerted the hostel authorities and Sangareddy rural police. 

The cops reportedly found a suicide letter from her room in which she wrote that no one was responsible for her suicide. She wrote that she was taking extreme step due to mental stress.
