Puri, Aug 26: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has crafted a compelling sand sculpture at Puri Beach in Odisha, bearing the powerful message 'Kill the Evil' on the occasion of Janmashtami. Concurrently, a vibrant gathering has assembled on Manali's Mall Road for a Krishna Janmashtami event organized by ISKCON.
Pattnaik, a Padma Shri awardee and celebrated artist, operates a sand art school at Puri Beach. With a remarkable record of participating in over 65 international sand art competitions and festivals, Pattnaik has garnered numerous accolades for India.
His sand creations are not only artistically impressive but also serve as vehicles for social awareness, addressing critical issues such as HIV/AIDS, global warming, terrorism, plastic pollution, COVID-19, and environmental conservation.
As Krishna Janmashtami approaches on August 26, preparations are in full swing nationwide. Devotees are busy observing traditional practices, including fasting and adorning temples and homes with vibrant flowers, diyas, and lights.
