The Indian Men's Hockey team clinched the Gold medal in the Asian Games held in China. This remarkable victory marked the fourth consecutive Gold medal win for the Indian team in Asian Games.
The saga of Odia player Amit Rohidas, who played a pivotal role, was narrated to the students. The gripping narrative of the team's perseverance and success was conveyed to the students with great enthusiasm.
As part of the effort to promote sports and boost students' intellectual and self-confidence, the 'My School Hockey Club' initiative has been implemented in all government schools. The initiative aims to provide students from elementary to higher secondary levels with comprehensive exposure to hockey. Schools are now equipped with modern sports facilities and equipment, including indoor sports complexes and hockey gear, to foster interest and talent in the sport.
The 'My School Hockey Club' has garnered participation and keen interest from students across schools. Students from the sixth grade upwards have joined the club and are actively engaged in honing their hockey skills. The primary objective is to identify and nurture promising talents and equip them for the future.
