Bhubaneswar, August 31: Prominent entrepreneur, philanthropist, columnist and motivational speaker Subroto Bagchi has taken on a new responsibility, with the Karnataka government appointing him Chairman of the Karnataka Skill Development Vision Group.

Bagchi, who earned recognition for his work as the head of the Odisha Skill Development Authority, will now advise the Karnataka government on strengthening the state’s skill development ecosystem.

The special Vision Group has been constituted under the Karnataka State Skill Policy 2025–2032. In his new role, Bagchi will advise the government on innovative measures to enhance skill development and equip the state’s youth with the skills needed to meet future employment and industry demands.

Reacting to his appointment, Bagchi said, “We will work towards laying the foundation for the future. We have done it before, and we will do it again.”

Bagchi’s tenure in Odisha was marked by several notable achievements in the field of skill development, with the state emerging as a prominent example of large-scale skilling initiatives under his leadership.
