Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Saturday flagged off Subhadra Yojana Awareness Rath which will roam across Odisha creating awareness on the scheme.
The van aims to create awareness about the upcoming Subhadra Yojana scheme, which is designed to empower over 1 crore women across the state.
Chief Minister Majhi, on the occasion, said, "The Subhadra scheme will be launched on September 17, which will help financially and empower women across Odisha. Therefore, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the 'Subhadra Awareness Rath' is being flagged off in Bhubaneswar, and later across Odisha, in a bid to make the beneficiaries aware of the scheme. More than 1 crore women will benefit under the Subhadra scheme in the state."
Speaking at the event, Parida said, "It is my good fortune that on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Subhadra Yojana has been started by CM Mohan Charan Majhi."
The scheme will deploy a 'rajrath' vehicle to travel across 338 units, reaching households directly. Parida highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, "For the first time in Odisha, more than 1 crore women will benefit from the Subhadra Yojana."
She also spoke about the scheme's goal of women's empowerment: "The main aim of the Subhadra Yojana is to empower women. When one woman becomes empowered, the entire family gets empowered. Hence, the initiative is to empower over a crore families in Odisha," Parida added.
Parida also expressed hope that the scheme will substantially contribute to Prime Minister Modi's vision of creating 'lakhpati didis' and will inspire Odisha's women to become 'crorepatis' as well.
The Deputy Chief Minister also invoked Goddess Subhadra's blessings for the success of the scheme. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Parida launched the 'Subhadra Awareness Van' on Saturday.
