Nayagarh, Aug 28: On the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi released the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana at a state-level event in Nayagarh.
Under the fifth instalment, more than one crore eligible women beneficiaries received ₹5,000 each. The amount was transferred directly to their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The latest instalment includes 2,21,054 new beneficiaries. More than ₹5,163 crore has been transferred under the scheme.
The state-level programme in Nayagarh was attended by Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and MP Sambit Patra, among others.
The Subhadra Yojana is a flagship welfare scheme of the Odisha government aimed at providing financial support to eligible women across the state.
