Bhubaneswar, Sept 15:Before the magnificent kick-start of the Subhadra Yojna, the Odisha government on Sunday held ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ rallies to include participation of more number of women beneficiaries.
At least 1000 street-rallies and road show marked the welcome ceremony to the tens of thousands of women across the state which was flagged of at the state headquarters in Bhubaneswar by the two Deputy Chief Ministers of Odisha.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo flagged off the state-level Subhadra Swagat Padayatra at Giridurga Temple along with Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation(BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das.
Hundreds of Anganwadi workers, supervisors, SHG members, and ASHAs along with Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) members participated in a massive rally to spread awareness on the Women Empowerment Program.
As per govt sources, the ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ is part of a state-wide initiative, with around 10,000 padayatras planned for it. It will continue for a week in order to garner massive participation of rural women.
