Phulbani, Mar 4: A team of Special Task Force (STF) with the help of Kandhamal police conducted a rain on team of STF conducted a raid near village Manipadar under Phiringia Police Station regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals and arrested one wildlife criminal in this connection.
The wildlife criminal has been identified as Belarsen Kanhar (43) of Kurkanapali under Phiringia police limits in Kandhamal district.
During search one number of Leopard Skin, Cash of Rs.5500/- along with other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession. The accused person could not produce any authority in support of possession of suchLeopard Skin, for which he has been apprehended and will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM, Phulbani Dist. Kandhamal. In this connection a case has been registered. The skin will be sent to Director WII, Derhadun for biological examination. Investigation is going on.
